Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) are increasingly gaining traction across the globe. Primarily utilized as a form of energy storage mechanism to balance grid demands, its utility has been amplified recently in the commercial sector as it allows cost savings via the "Time Of Use" scheme, peak shaving etc. For example, the battery can take in energy from the grid during off peak hours where electricity is cheap, stores it and releases it during peak hours where electricity is expensive. The commercial entity thus reduces overall electricity cost. As one of the pioneers in the BESS field for commercial sectors, EVC has cumulatively deployed almost 3 MWh of BESS across the whole of Malaysia, which is one of the leading figures for the commercial BESS field in Malaysia.
